Green Party Candidate for Hoylake and Meols

Colin Hawksworth is the Green Party candidate for Hoylake and Meols ward. He lives in Meols, works in local education and is studying for an MA with the Open University. He is a supporter of Save the Children.

As a councillor he would seek to emulate the fantastic work of over 110 Green councillors nationwide.

His aims would be to preserve the natural beauty of the area, whilst working alongside local people and services to provide a sustainable community for all. He would address local concerns with the people they affect through transparent, accountable action.

Proposed Local Developments

Hoylake Golf Resort
Greens say YES to the promotion of Hoylake and West Kirby as the number one low-carbon leisure destination in the North West but NO to the proposed golf resort in Hoylake. Where else is there sailing, swimming, walking, cycling, bird watching and beaches all accessible by rail?

Hotel Development in West Kirby

Greens say YES to the expansion of family owned hotels and B&Bs that provide long-term employment and increase local economic activity but NO to the proposed four-storey hotel on Dee Lane, West Kirby.

Aldi Supermarket, West Kirby

Greens say YES to a farmers' market but NO to the proposed Aldi supermarket on Bridge Road, West Kirby. Wirral Council is also proposing another supermarket for the area around the Concourse. A farmers' market is the really sustainable option that will add character and keep money in the local community.
